A crown is a tooth-shaped “cap” that completely covers a decayed or damaged tooth. The dentist trims away part of the natural tooth to make room for the crown. The crown protects the tooth and restores its original colour and shape.

Traditional dental crowns are made of several materials. Crowns made of porcelain fused to zirconium are as aesthetic as they are strong, which is why we often offer them to our patients. Crowns made of porcelain fused to metal are generally made on dental implants. Crowns made entirely of ceramic are the most aesthetically pleasing.
