Digital Smile Design (DSD)
Visualize your smile
Advantages
DSD Technology
Digital Smile Design (DSD) allows for a detailed analysis of the patient’s facial and dental characteristics. All critical factors that may have been previously overlooked during basic assessment procedures are also reviewed and taken into account.
DSD is a multi-purpose conceptual tool that helps clarify diagnosis, better respond to unforeseen events, and improve communication throughout treatment.
Drawing reference lines and shapes on extra- and intraoral digital photographs, in a predetermined sequence, can expand diagnostic visualization and help the restorative team assess the limitations and risk factors of a given case, including asymmetries, imbalances, and violations of aesthetic principles. This enhanced visualization facilitates the selection of the ideal restorative technique.
The DSD protocol is characterized by effective communication between the interdisciplinary dental team. Team members can identify and highlight discrepancies in soft or hard tissue and discuss the best available solutions using the magnified images.
How does it work?
-
Step 1 / 6
Photos + Digital Smile Design (complete modelling done on the computer)
-
Step 2 / 6
The patient's model is placed in the patient's mouth (the DSD protocol and wax model are intended for clinical adjustment)
-
Step 3 / 6
Treatment Acceptance: Following patient approval, restorative procedures may be adjusted if necessary.
-
Step 4 / 6
Tooth preparation should be as minimally invasive as possible, leaving only the space necessary for ceramic restorations.
-
Step 5 / 6
Completion and conclusion of treatment with guaranteed patient satisfaction!
-
Step 6 / 6
All these steps are performed correctly and carefully, allowing the final result to exceed the patient's expectations!
